Love s Sacrifice
My dream was unfolding in front of my own eyes,
You simply asked me out with much hesitation,
But there was an another truth that did hide,
As moments passed it did need to be apprised.
You would have been more happy with him,
He was much more compatible than me,
I had seen that in your eyes before and so did today,
I had to make the sacrifice of the highest degree.
My heart would heal of that I was sure,
I just wanted to have the best in life of yours,
Seeing you with him would make my act worthwhile,
I would be alwasys behind you as the sea behind the shores.
He s the one and may you be happy with him,
I will find the one of my own as the time flows,
I ll still be the friend that I was and will always be,
I ll make sure you live your life in complete repose.

Wow, that is beautiful!! I totally understand that kind of sacrifice!! It is hard to keep that place once you take it though, because of your own true love for that person. It can be hard to be strong about it. As one who knows that silent vow, I give you much credit!!!
Nemesis:Well it aint easy but one has to sometimes make sacrifices for the one they truly love. Life s about such small moments in which we can make the big decisions. Thanks for your comment.

I reading this over and over again. Slowly. From one point it’s self-substantiation… but from another point it’s the most noble thought ever. To do what you think is right, is not sacrifice, though. It’s just right. Just because you think it’s right. If you honestly think (believe) that, what else could you do?
I like this poem.
Nemesis:Well you made a right point there. Actually poem should have been written in third person form so as to others its seems as a sacrifice yet for the person doing it is simple feeling of righteousness. Anyways thanks for commenting.

this one kind of shows that you are making assumptions!!!. why do you assume she wouldn’t have been perfect for you. like the comment above i feel you were calling the shots in this case. But then again from another view you are the perfect lovable guy who looks after the happiness. you lose some , you gain some…..i can’t make out what did you gain!!!
